Classic Art Of Edvard Munch
Oct 28th 2009 by
With Halloween looming, and the love of the uncanny and eery in the air, I thought it was only fitting to showcase some of the best art from Edvard Munch. The Norwegian expressionist artist born in 1863, had an amazing eye for the world, and he was quoted as saying, “We should no longer paint interiors with men reading and women knitting. We should paint living people who breathe, feel, suffer and love.” He was known for wanting to capture the true emotion, suffering, pain, loneliness, passion, fear, and the essence of human existence, and he wanted his art to create a strong emotional effect from its viewers. With titles such as Anxiety, The Scream, Separation, The Storm, Sick Child, and Death Agony, you can see that his art was straight forward and had one agenda, and that was to reveal the human existence for what it was, without sugar-coating anything. I just love his work, because of its ability to envoke an unsettling feeling withing, without having to be graphic in anyway; his art is subtle, yet commanding. I feel he is very well known for The Scream, but that most of his other work goes unappreciated. Here are some of my favorite examples of Munch’s art, and these always give me inspiration even in my Graphic and Web Design! I hope you enjoy them, as much as I do!

4How to Easily Create a JavaScript Framework, Part 4
Oct 25th 2009 by
In “How to Easily Create a JavaScript Framework, Part 3,” we discussed “Waiting Until the DOM Loaded”, “How to Modify “setStyle()”, “Set and Get Values from Input Elements”, and “Fun Effects: “fadeIn()” and “fadeOut().” In this week’s post, I will complete the “VOZ” JavaScript Framework tutorial series, and I will add a few new methods for dealing with a JavaScript Framework. Moreover, I will introduce some AJAX into the Framework. Feel free to use this Framework as you see fit, or to add your own methods. I hope you find the final installment of my series as interesting as the first three! Please remember to comment, and Enjoy!
13Hasta La Vista VISTA! Welcome Windows 7
Oct 22nd 2009 by
No one can help but notice the huge interest lately for Microsoft’s Windows 7, but can you blame them? We are talking about replacing Vista, quite possibly one of the worst operating systems every created, with something that claims to be better. After dealing with Vista for the past two and a half years, most consumers will jump at the mere possibility of a replacement. Vista’s emergence onto the market did a few key things. First, though Microsoft still controls the operating system market, it made way for Macintosh to blossom and even poke fun at Microsoft’s and their blunder that is Vista through a huge marketing campaign, which we are all familiar with. Secondly, Vista’s creation sharply damaged Microsoft’s perception in the market, as well as put pressure on them to make something better.
1Web Developers and Designers Unite!

This past week, Admix Web was approached by Brian K. McDaniel, a fellow web designer and blogger, about having a bio written about us for his new weekly blog installment called, “Behind the Avatar.” Our first reaction was honor; what an honor to be considered for such an article. Our second reaction was much more profound, when we realized how brilliant of an idea this actually was! First off, Admix Web has to give acknowledgment to Brian K. McDaniel and his blog, BKMacdaddy, for a truly innovative idea, which does exactly what we have talked about here on Admix Web for awhile, which is the importance of collaboration rather than competition between fellow web designers and developers. continue reading
