In the blink of an eye, 18 years have passed! Believe it or not, it has been 18 years since I registered the domain and built Admix Web using WordPress with a custom theme. A lot has happened since then, back when I was in my 20s with my girlfriend (now wife) and no kids. Today, it is a quantum leap because I have a family with two kids and a dog. Also, I am enjoying spending time with kids and watching them grow while doing the activities they love.

This blog was inspired by the blogs of that era, which were mostly people sharing their knowledge without paywalls. In the middle to late 2000s, open source grew rapidly. Everyone helped improve the Web with tools like jQuery, MooTools, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, YUI, Prototype.js, and many more. Those were the days when the Internet fostered a true community of people sharing common interests and collaborating in ways that weren’t possible before.

In the late 2000s and early 2010s, this blog generated significant traffic thanks to support from fellow bloggers in the field, including websites like Artfans Designs, AminHut, Area1, bkmacdaddy, Concept Dezain, Design Juices, webexpedition18, smashingWebs, w3avenue, visualswirl, Gonzo Design, and many others. We were featured in several interviews and even books during the peak of the blogging era. In fact, I still keep in touch with those other bloggers and writers on Facebook, LinkedIn, and through occasional emails, even though we haven’t met in person. That is one of the beauties of being on the web; we meet people that we otherwise would never have a chance to connect with and learn about their cultures or share different points of view.

Most of those blogs from 20 to 15 years ago are now gone, and their creators have moved on to new pursuits. I have shifted my focus toward data, AI, and business. However, I still run a company that provides web design and development services.

I don’t code or design as much as I used to in my 20s. Now, I spend my time managing people and giving feedback while keeping up with current trends. That doesn’t mean this blog is dead; I will continue posting whenever inspiration strikes. Even so, the classic blogging era came to an end over a decade ago, long before AI emerged to answer our questions almost instantaneously. I am still eager to learn new things and see the Web move forward.

Thank you everyone who over the years has visited the blog and helped it to become a reference for some.
