30+ Beautiful Menus Examples
March 22nd, 2009 by TweetSpice up your site’s menu, and the world will take notice! An eye-catching and attractive, yet functional, menu is so essential to making an exceptional website because it is on of the first objects a reader may notice when they enter your site, and it is the area of the site that receives the most frequent traffic. In my opinion, an outstanding menu must consist of three main design features: 1) it must be understandable and react to the mouseover, 2) it must be exceptionally eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing, and 3) it must be clear, useful, and easy to function. Here are a few menus I consider amazing from around the world! Enjoy! And, remember to leave your comments!

nice examples of web menus, I like
codeGrene, Enjoying God Ministries, CSS Vault. thanks for the list..
Have a look at this guy’s, I like how he has the fade effect.

For the most part I really like them, but with CodeGreene I think they make a pretty big graphical / usability mistake of not having a hover state. Compare it to Elixir, for example, which also uses somewhat similar tabs, but there is a change on hover, even is subtle.
Just my $0.02 worth.

All Menus Are So Cool
The use of four totally different hues of blue is horrible in the presidential menu.
Nice mix
Finally, someone mentioned the White House. I have taken fancy to it for quite sometime already.
I like your examples, but not one of them is a vertical nav. They are all horizontal. Do you have any good examples of vertical navs?
Stay tuned, we are making a list about vertical menus and another post about dark designs.
Maybe next time we can make you list

I agree on the need for hover states. Good tutorial on designing hyperlinks: http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/usability/clear-hyperlinks.php
